This one-day open course focuses on the practical aspects of public speaking and presentation skills. It is led by actor Roger Ringrose (National Theatre, Silent Witness, Spooks) and is uniquely set in the surroundings of a professional theatre. ‘An Actor’s Guide to Public Speaking’ looks at crucial areas such as warm up, breathing, controlling nerves, body language, eye contact, voice projection and using props. Over five years this course has been experienced by more than 250 delegates from a wide range of blue-chip, public sector and not-for-profit organisations. What will I learn? Delegates will learn tips and techniques on stance, voice, audience engagement, physical states and controlling nerves and practice these through live speaking exercises on stage. Delegates will also receive individual feedback to help them continue to build their skills and confidence in public speaking. ‘An Actor’s Guide to Public Speaking’ runs as an open course at the Bath Theatre Royal or other professional regional theatre. It can also be run as an in-house course for up to ten delegates. For further information on dates and prices please contact us. |
